Two of the most prominent personalities associated with the area are Donald Healey and Winston Graham

Donald Healey was born in Perranporth in 1898 and won the Monte Carlo Rally in 1931. He is best remembered for his design of Healey sports cars.
In the photograph he is the dapper young man in the striped blazer next to the charabanc outside his Perranporth garage.

Winston Graham moved to Perranporth in his late teens and remained there for 34 years. A very successful fiction writer he is best known for his popular series of Poldark books which have been serialised for television. He was President of Perranzabuloe Museum until his death in 2003.
